Lang leve de geitenwollen sokken!

During my time at Vandebron (a sustainable energy supplier) our team was responsible for the creation of a new campaign. We came with the idea: What if we make Geitenwollen sokken (literal translation: Goat wool socks, figurately translated as 'tree hugger') a cool thing?

We designed and ordered goat wool socks for every new customer that signed a contract at Vandebron. In the designing phase we focussed heavily on the exclusivity we know from the sneaker world; the packaging had to be top notch. Our designer came up with an amazing design, which I photographed and edited to use for our marketing.

To make the socks even more desirable, we were tasked to create a television commercial in which we would go against the picture many of us have when we think about Geitenwollen sokken (tree huggers). We wanted to portray them as the heroes of our time, the ones that don't care about being ridiculed for something they stand for. Lang leve de geitenwollen sokken!

I was responsible for the pre-production, concept and editing of the television commercial. We later made various version for our social media platforms.

The TV commercial

After the TV commercial, our event team set up an event to celebrate the release of the video and to generate even more buzz around our new concept. We opened a pop-up store for one weekend, where a sneaker-artist was customizing the geitenwollen sokken with people's own shoes.

The Geitenwollen sokken campaign was picked up by various media around The Netherlands, and the socks 'sold out' very quickly.
